| The problem is Club Gov.  Back in the 50's the term used to describe the record labels paying off DJ's to play records more frequently, so the recordings would move to the top of the charts was called payola. There were congressional hearings about same and the careers of several DJ's were ruined as a result of the negative publicity.
The current continuous campaign has led to a situation where any special treatment requested by the RIAA or MPAA is placed ahead of the ordinary citizen. The K Street boys and girls will prostitute themselves for money, A.K.A. campaign contributions, the new form of payola. As long as our Government is being run as a private club for the benefit of the Legislative and Executive Branch, do not expect to see any action taken to punish those engaged in illegal acts and don't expect fair use to be clarified in law to the benefit of the ordinary citizen. Remember how George Porgy gave Scooter a new set of wheels without a lock and key after he broke the law. The current administration's new motto should be "GOP above the law". The current administration believes in servicing the ordinary citizen like the Bull services the Cow. |
