Free WiFi?

This has the smell of a corporate marketing decision badly thought out.
If you want to attract customers with "Free WiFi" you had a good chance to do it years ago, but were too greedy to do so.
Free WiFi should be free of purchase and time restrictions, and customer friendly (this means multiple power outlets around your place), and friendly service all along. PANERA is doing it right, they offer all of these things, and let you have all you can drink regular coffee for a buck and a half.
Sure, at times you'll have customers that will surf the net for half a day, so what, put a welcome page in your WiFi service that friendly suggests using small tables, or sharing a table when staying for an extended time.

"Compete competently", or at least copy your competition's good traits!

Wake up and smell the coffee Starbucks!!!
