They usually do updates by VHO, you are right. It seems with this realignment they aren't. They split NY into two days this week with one VHO. Philly VHO is extremely big. |

1 edit | reply to JPL said by JPL :Still can't see the lists here (guess later today). I'm confused - I thought they did these transitions by VHO. Why would Northern DE, Southern NJ and Philly be three different sets of dates?nt. They even split Delaware into 3 different dates. Plus Mercer, plus South Jersey. 5 dates so far for that VHO not even counting Southeastern PA where you are. |

@verizon.net | reply to matcarl Why would they wait so long for Philly? Wouldn't this tick off a ton of people who won't get the Big 10 network for football in the Philly area? |

2 edits | reply to matcarl Boy, the roll-out schedule is getting complicated. Looks like SE PA and Washington Metro markets won't be getting the HD love before mid-September at the earliest. Waaaahh!
If you look at the Delaware line-ups, it is complicated. Which VHO is southern DE run out of?
Northern DE gets the Philly stations and CSN Philadelphia and CSN Mid-Atlantic & MASN out of the Balt-DC market, Central DE gets the Philly stations & CSN Philadephia, CSN Mid-Atlantic & MASN out of the Balt-DC market, but also the Salisbury locals, Southern DE gets the Salisbury, MD local stations which means no Fox HD (no separate FOX digital station in the market), no CW HD, no PBS HD (although there are 2 PBS stations in the DMA).
This is all getting difficult to keep track of. Organizing the conversion by date, here is the complete published list.
As of July 26 on Verizon website 6/30 Fort Wayne IN 7/21 Portland OR 7/28 New York 7/31 Northern NJ 8/06 Pittsburgh 8/13 Richmond VA 8/14 Hampton Roads VA 8/20 Massachusetts 8/21 Rhode Island 8/26 Northern NJ Enhanced 8/27 Mercer County, NJ 9/02 Southern Delaware 9/04 Central Delaware 9/08 Southern New Jersey 9/15 Northern Delaware
Going back to fix my post - they changed NY to 7/28 and nothern NJ to 7/31. |

Northern DE also gets CSN-MA and MASN along with CSN-Philly. It's a nice sweet spot.
I believe southern DE is fed out of the MD VHO - but not 100% certain.
So Northern DE is 9/15 now? Looks like i'll need to update my co-workers. -- "ONE team - ONE city - ONE dream!!" |

I fixed my post to summarize what the differences are between the 3 parts of Delaware. Given the complicated mix of locals and RSNs, wonder if Verizon will (or has) set up a new VHO for Baltimore city, northern MD to also cover the Salisbury, MD market as well. |

Anyone have any ideas about what that is about? Looks like Verizon messed up the PDF line-ups (again). The "enhanced" HD line-up is much smaller than the 7/31 line-up which has the all HD HBO & Cinemax channels. Think they swapped the line-ups, so take the "enhanced" as the July 31 roll-out and the July 31 as the "enhanced", ignoring the dates on the PDF sheet. Jeez, is proofreading and double checking the web page updates that hard to do? |

@verizon.net | reply to matcarl I had read somewhere that the Philly area won't see the upgrade until around November. So no big 10 network for us. |

@verizon.net
| I've been looking to find where it said Philly is slated for the upgrade in November, I can't find it, does anyone know what we were listed on the original posting last month? Someone came up with a list that looks accurate and it listed Philly I had thought as 9/8 and then someone said that was pushed back to last Oct / Nov.
Sorry to be a pain about this, I have surived not having the baseball package this summer, but I can't give up BIG 10 NetWork and NHL center ice too. I hardly ever watch TV now and I feel like I am throwing the money out the window, I need sports packages to watch the games. I can only bear to watch so many Phils games with Gary Matthews doing the telecast. It's brutal.
Appreciate it! |
