I had read somewhere that the Philly area won't see the upgrade until around November. So no big 10 network for us.
"somewhere"? That's really helpful. I suspect they must hit some holdups in getting the COs in the SE PA area shut down or converted, but no reason to think that SE PA will be delayed that long. If you look at the latest dates, southern NJ is to be upgraded on Monday, 9/08; Northern DE on Monday, 9/15. Those dates are still far off enough that they can slide SE PA in later on Wednesday, 9/10 or 9/17. May just be some unresolved issues in the SE PA COs or upgrading the cable runs to the COs that they have to resolve first before they can put up a firm upgrade date.

Given how they are breaking the upgrade process for VHOs by different states in the VHO, the Washington Metro market upgrade may be split into MD and Northern VA on different dates. I hope they do Northern VA first. However, this whole process is looking more and more stretched out, CA and TX may be delayed into late October. Hope Verizon has a plan to replace one of the temporary Olympic HD channels with TBS-HD in the markets that have not been upgraded so people don't have to miss a big chunk of the MLB playoffs in HD - again.

Actually I think it was someone here where I thought someone said November. This is where I mainly look for updated information.

Called Fios today and they want $197 for me to break my 2 year contract. Yikes!

I think we can all say, it will not be November.

I live in NNJ. On the FIOS TV site, I see the 7.31 NNJ line up and then there is a NNJ Enhanced line up on 8.26. Enhanced, not so much. It looks like a huge step down. Anyone have any ideas about what that is about?
Looks like Verizon messed up the PDF line-ups (again). The "enhanced" HD line-up is much smaller than the 7/31 line-up which has the all HD HBO & Cinemax channels. Think they swapped the line-ups, so take the "enhanced" as the July 31 roll-out and the July 31 as the "enhanced", ignoring the dates on the PDF sheet. Jeez, is proofreading and double checking the web page updates that hard to do?
I've posted this in the 100 HD channel thread, but I'm gonna confirm this week about the channels. I also decided I'll go through and give a list of all the HD channels we got.

Looking at the NY channel lineup vs. the Hampton Roads lineup makes me want to cry

That is a lot of HD.
Most of it is HBO & Cinemax
14 channels of it west coast feeds, sort of not needed for those who have the HD DVR, i guess there could be times the westies could come in handy if there is just a whole bunch of stuff you want to record at one time. You can record the movies on the west coast three hours later. But really, how often is that going to happen. We have 200 channels with nothing worth watching at times. I would not be adding the west coast channels to my Fav's

I'm wondering if market size determines the number of HD channels that will be added to an area? Oregon and Indiana are small pickin's compared to America's biggest city, but won't everyone, everywhere with FIOS TV, have pretty much all the same HD channels by years end?

So, even though the channel realighment, and channel additions, seems to be going more haphazardly than anticipated, it should all even out in the end. I hope.

I must have missed something, I don't know why that thread was locked. Sorry for the OT.

NY is getting them because of the launch of FiOS in NYC. NNJ, probably because of it's close proximity to NY would be next in line.

Same VHO serves both areas, that is the reason!

I'm fairly certain that IN and OR were also the guinea pigs. And I suspect fairly strongly that all the markets will have the same national channels by year's end (if not sooner).

I thought that might have been the case, but was not certain so didn't want to post w/o knowing.

South Jersey is showing "The Big Ten HD network" in their 9/8 .PDF line up.

I thought they all originated from the Queens VHO location. Where is the N NJ VHO located then?
