| when will there be more HD channels in the north NJ / nyc
area?
Right now I think theres only about 30 HD channels, and that is including the local+national channels. My friend who has directv still gets some great HD channels that I would love to get (versus in HD for hockey, Tennis channel in HD, etc.)
any ideas? |

| Sometime this year. No dates have been announced for your area/market. It will happen sometime after your analog channels go away.
See recent postings for info on what will be included in the initial wave of new HDs. It's likely there will another late in the year with additional HDs. |

Is HD streaming now available in Home Media? Do I need a new DVR box? No HD streaming from the media box. It doesn't seem likely you'll need a new box when it's available as the Home Media feature is just software on the standard HD DVR box anyway but I that's just a guess. |

| reply to tygman Spoke to a tech yesterday. She said since they're going all digital (finally...), they're freeing up bandwidth and allowing for additional HD channels. Nothing specific, but she did say "150 HD channels by the end of the year." ::crosses fingers:: |

| reply to tygman Northern NJ could get the new SD/HD channel lineup very soon this summer. Verizon had just made the switch from analog to digital in Summit, NJ today. Now on TVs without a set top box, digital adapter, DVR or CableCard, there's just a message playing on channels 2 through 49 about the changeover and the 1-888-GO-DIGITAL number in white text over a red background. |
