Just plug the filter into the phone, then the phone line wire into it and to the wall jack. Not too hard of a fix. |

| reply to nwrickert said by nwrickert :Best solution is to install a whole house filter (POTS filter, NID filter), and run a separate unfiltered line direct from the NID to your modem. This what I did 5 years ago, used red/green for voice and yellow/black for dsl(or on newer wiring blue/white for voice and whatever for dsl) and got a wall plate with 2 phone jacks, works great, have a 2 story house 4 phones (1 a 3 handset wireless) and never a problem. |

Is a wall mount filter included with the Motorola 2210 self install kit Wayjac, In the AT&T Southeast region the 2Wire Wireless Gateway comes with a self-install kit that contains 4 2Wire phone filters. 3 2Wire phone filters, 1 2Wire phone filter with an ADSL convenience jack, and no wall filter. There is a sheet of paper in the kit telling you to go here www.bellsouth.net/filters if you need to order a wall filter.
The Motorola 2210-02-1006 that we get in the AT&T Southeast region comes with a self-install kit (KIT4BS) that contains 4 Suttle filters. 3 (900LC4-50BS) Suttle phone filters, 1 (900LCS4-50BS) Suttle phone filter with an ADSL convenience jack, and no wall filter. The 2Wire Wireless Gateways, that I have seen, have always came with the 2Wire filter kit. I have helped people with about 5 2Wire installs here in the last couple of months.

| It is entirely possible that the promotion code in my previous reply is only for the AT&T Southeast region (formally BellSouth) and will not work in the other AT&T regions.
In the AT&T Southeast region if someone orders brand new FastAccess DSL service from AT&T Southeast then their self-install filter kit would not have came with a Wall Mount Filter, but it should have came with an insert providing instructions to order one FREE from AT&T. They quit sending Wall Mount Filters with the kits awhile back because they are very rarely used and it was a waste of money to send them out if most people don't need one. If someone has recently ordered FastAccess DSL service from AT&T Southeast and did not receive an insert providing instructions to obtain a Wall Mount Filter then they can call AT&T up and AT&T ought send them one free of charge.
I'm not exactly sure how things happen in the other AT&T regions.
If you have had DSL service for a long time and have just lost your Wall Mount Filter then you need to order one.
You can order one from the AT&T Store for $6.00 with $4.50 Shipping and Handling.
You can also order one from the manufacturer, but not really for less money. They do have a greater variety with more configuration options though. -- .

| Those guys are experts. Their specialty is network component selection, component placement, and wiring. No job too big or too small. Their portfolio is quite extensive which explains the slow to load web site.
I still laugh when I look at the site. I wish that they had some new material there though.
I know these guys can help with the OP's problem. |
