If Time Warner had proposed something reasonable, similar to Comcast's cap of 250GB people wouldn't be making such a stink about it.

Agreed, on the condition that they also include a clause that doesn't preclude the possibility of upping the cap as the internet matures. 250GB seems good now. In 10 years, it may not be.
