| MLPPP using 2wire DSLrouter/modem and a Dlink Router
Hi there,
After reading some threads and trying to understand the setup for MLPPP, I was wondering if someone could use this setup to get the same effect
Equipment:
2wire DSL modem in bridge mode. This modem has 4 ports.
DLINK Load Balancing Router (DI-LB604) with 2 wan ports.
Now If I was to run a cable from Port 1 on the 2wire to Wan 1 on the Dlink, and another from Port 2 on the 2wire to wan 2 on the Dlink, using the same teksavvy pppoe login for both wan ports, would this give me the same effect to beat the throttle using 1 dsl line?
I haven't tested this yet, but I figured I would ask if I'm missing something before I go to all the trouble. |

You've just chosen the wrong hardware. What you want is the WRT54GL and DSL_Ricer and Guspaz's Tomato MLPPP mod firmware. |

| reply to koreyb i believe this setup will work with 2 DSL Modems though.
the Dlink is a loadbalancing router w/ 2WAN ports. it also says in the specs listed here »www.ncix.com/products/index.php?···e=D-Link
that this router has the ability to do Multi Session PPP, which is the MLPPP right?
while more expensive than the WRT54GL setup, it might be easier for the average user. PLUS I have had VERY bad luck w/ WRT54G series routers, as well as other I know. |
