1 edit | wow, so much for the consitution
hopefully, the next president tries to veto this if it gets passed, its a blatant violation of the first amendment ffs.
and if it does, count on the internet becoming unusable, if the RIAA is anything to go by how overzealous our country is getting with anti-everything.
i predict a few lawsuits if this does go through, which is possible but an unlikely scenario in its current form, thank god that bush is on his way out though, get some sane politicians into the WH and see what happens to this, if anything can be done.
I, for one, am hoping, praying, betting w/e that its not going to get passed, imo this bill pact treaty, whatever you want to call it, is the same as communism (for being able to censor ANYTHING whomever deems it unfit even if its not a piracy issue [China anyone?])
btw, i dont think the BT piracy figures are accurate anymore. A LOT of gaming sites, fan sub, and completely legal sites use bit torrent for updating their games, programs, releases etc. (MEAIT, IJJI, Bliz, GNG, and a quite a few others).
id speculate that around 55% to 65% (maybe as high as 75% on release days for some games or programs/music) is pirated, the rest is legal. -- Speedtest.net: 27759KB/s Down 538kb/s Up |
