| 7mbps for wholesalers when?
Why the f do we have a CRTC, (other than preventing HBO from being offered in Canada, and allow cell phone companies to run a zoo)
If 7mbps is available to wholesalers, then I apologize for my post. It seems its been since forever since Sympatico started rolling out 7Mbps and I have yet to see it. |

| When pigs will fly... (Rocky of Teksavvy a while ago they has a discussion with Bell about it... but I guess that changed since the throttling.)
But for me, it doesn't matter. I'd rather have a 5 Mpbs non-throttled connection than a 7 mpbs throttled.
Yes, some people use Usenet but others might still use bittorrent from time to time to download contents, and a lot of it are legal! Linux Distros, WoW patches, Games demos, Games (America's Army) indies movies that doesn't have the bandwidth required to distribute their films...
Sorry my rant... |

I, for one, would sure like an extra 2mbit down and 288kbit up... |

| reply to Cloneman it started with some isp like Radioactif.com in Montreal. Since a week they change their web site to tell they offer a 7.0 mbit/s dsl (Bell Nexxia) and cable (on videotron network) i want to subscribe and I'll take the time to be sure it's really possible to have 7.0 mbit/s because a friend tell me he have the 7mbits. |

| Unlikely:

That's not Bell's service, Bell offers 1088 up.
quote: Modem Versatek 170P ADSL2+ 89,95$
Funny, that's the same modem that Colba uses, and it has an MSRP of $40 (so they're ripping you off at $90)... Furthermore, they also sell the ST516. Why? It's the same chipset as the VER170p.
Looks like a reseller of somebody else to me. Primus, maybe? |

Unless it's over DSL 2+? |

| reply to Cloneman So as i understand, if radioactif really offers 7 mbits, it should be able to offer 1088 up with the max package and because it's only 800 kbits, it's the adsl 1 standard package! so we need to wait again and again!!!!for adsl2+ i really hate the Beavers |

| ADSL1 goes faster than 800kbit. I've synced at 8128/1024 when on an unrestricted profile. I suspect that that is the highest supported ADSL1 speed on either my modem (the VER170p) or the DSLAM I was on at the time (Colba's).
Bell doesn't wholesale 7mbit service. If Radioactif is providing 7mbit, they're probably using their own DSLAMs.
I'm not sure about the quality of Radioactif's service. The only things that I've heard haven't been good. You might want to go with one of the better known wholesalers. TekSavvy, Velcom, Acanac, eBox, etc. There are plenty of well-known wholesalers who offer similar pricing. |

RadioActif is reselling 3men@works just like EBox but their service is very professional. I ordered their cable service last week and it was a breeze, their website is full of information so I didn't have to call to ask my pre-sales questions. |
