Opera sings anti-malware tune

from
»www.securityfocus.com/brief/750
"..
The feature -- to be added in the next version of the browser, Opera 9.5 -- will prevent users from downloading programs from Web pages that purposefully or inadvertently attempt to infected visitors with malicious code.
..
Windows users of Firefox and Internet Explorer can download the Haute Secure technology as a plug-in for their browser. Opera did not give a firm date for when it will release version 9.5.

I'm skeptical. Haute Secure's test page is... not much of a test. I do not have their software, and the page tells me "O HAI WE BLOKED IT KTHXBYE!" anyway.

Hmm.

Your second link doesn't load.

I immediately turned this off in Fx3.

2nd link loads fine here.. Perhaps it's a FF issue?

Agreed.
I'm running Firefox on Linux and saw the above.

Perhaps Proxomitron was the 'active ingredient'.

I see the same thing as SUMware, Firefox 3.0 on Windows XP-SP2.

Good point.

Disabling Privoxy and NoScript however, gives the same result.

As does bypassing Proxo (didn't think about trying that before, thanks).

I can get to the second link on Fx today just fine. It must been a temporary problem last night.

I just went to the Haute Secure test page on Fx and saw the same notice you did. Maybe it is Proxo.

edit: I didn't finish reading the thread before replying. I see that bypassing Proxo produces the same result. Not a very good test.
