Usenet

Usenet with an encrypted SSL connection is the only safe way to get what you need. And the fastest as well.

Some people will say they cannot afford a subscription. I agree Giganews is pricey, but there are other alternatives.

I however think it is highly hypocritical that people whine Usenet is too expansive when they use Bittorent to rip hundreds of dollars worth of software or media each month.

You mean besides purchasing the content via an authorized mechanism.

I love irony.

I fail to see the irony in my statement.

You don't see irony in people complaining about paying for the ability to obtain content that they should be paying for in the first place?

Yes it is. I find it more hypocritical though.

I do use Usenet even though there isn't one piece of pirated software on my PC, from the OS to Office, to Adobe CS3 or all my games.

However the only place I can watch Battlestar Galactica in 720p is Usenet, so there you have it.

Yes, it is hypocritical as well. BTW, I never called you out for unauthorized activity.

A lot of people have been paying for Usenet subscriptions for a long time.

To an even greater extent, you could argue that "everyone" is paying for content they should be paying for in the first place through their monthly ISP bills.

Heck, I know people who pay upwards of 60-120 bucks a month for a dedicated server overseas to run dedicated torrent clients on!
