| My home stuff...
My Leviton Cabinet, Cable Modem, Router (Running DD-WRT) and switches. Cable & Phone will eventually go here too. | Cable & CAT5 from around the house (That's a 386 MoBo as an ornament on the wall...) | Setup in the bedroom. ASUS P5K3, BFG 8800GTX, 1TB Hitachi Drive, 2G Memory, Windows XP | Computer in the workshop. PIII-933. Blazing! | Another PC In the basement. It's an AMD based system, gets only a little use. HP 6XP Printer - About 15 yrs old! | My old P4 has become my HTPC on my 55 inch TV |
Here are a few pics of my home setup... I realize I'm not the most immaculate housekeeper, so please excuse the dust. I have a bunch of new cables to go into the network setup, so things will get neater. I just haven't had much time lately to do so.
Enjoy. |

Ah, the old Commodore 64 floppy drive. I remember the sales guy telling me, "You'll never need more than 64k of RAM!".

| I have a big lateral filing cabinet that I use for storage. I have 1 section full of Commodore hardware - homebrew power supplies, drives, tape drives, and main boards and keyboards from C64's and C64C's. (it was easier to store them without the bulky case, mostly for parts use). Another full of books and software and stuff. Normally they don't wander over to that desk, but I must have been cleaning stuff up and left them there.
Thems was the days! |

Just mount a piece of plywood, and some punch blocks and a patchbay. It's a lot easier to work on then trying to cram everything into one of those boxes. |

In all seriousness, it works just great for me, but you and the pros are entitled to your opinion.
Besides - there's plenty of space for what I have left. The patch for phone is already there. Cable is a preexisting splitter & amp which will mount fine. If I need more network, I have another open spot on the first patch-panel mount. I have room for another one of those mounts, so I'm pretty well golden. Beyond leaving that room for expansion, there are no future plans. Besides, the cabinet is nice for me for keeping dust and curious kitties out of the cabinet. Once it's done, it's done. I really don't intend to be futzing with this on a constant basis; there's plenty of room to work and mount for my existing and future plans (all rooms have cable/phone/network; I may run another one or two network lines to a room if I need to put jacks on an opposing wall, rather than run hubs in the rooms).
Though I have to admit, one thing I love about pic posts on DSLR is seeing how people always need to justify what they've done to the critics. Hey, it works for them! More power to them (and me LOL). |

| Yup, same TV. The KDS-55A2000. Mine has worked just fine. When I first got it, when it was warming up the colors were greenish, but now they are normal during warmup. The colors are spot on, and no globing or abnormalities in the TV. I've had it since August of 2006, the build date is July 2006, still on the original lamp as well.
