| DSL & Home Phone - Strange Problem
I have had an ongoing issue with frequent intermittent sync loss on my DSL line and it's gone on to the point my Telco provider, Bellsouth, has said the circuit is TNF (Technically Not Feasible) and the problem seemed to begin after some heavy rains. Since the issue happens beyond the NID it was suggested the Telco's lines are at fault, but the TNF status is preventing any further work being done on the line by Bellsouth.
OK that's old news. I actually got about 4 days of uninterrupted DSL and on Friday, after it rained coincidentally, it went back to disconnecting every 5 minutes. I called in to tech support and they did their line test. After the test the DSL started working again, however, the phone line was without a dial tone. After the phone line was fixed by Earthlink TS, the DSL issue reappeared. Can anyone tell me why this might be? I was thinking all along the problem was bad lines, but does this indicate something else or is the problem surely noise on the phone side that is not present when the phone service is off? |
