Re: No incoming calls since 6/6 (approx)

Thanks for the reply.

I checked my number is 302-294-2xxx which points to »telcodata.us/switchinfo.html?cll···WPA10DS0

Do I just call Broadwing directly or is there a number for that switch's office?

I tried calling Broadwing, and their automated msg said something about an outage affecting customers in PA (where my switch is located) but I never got to a real person.

Your number in Newark DE was actually asigned by NANPA to Focal Communications which within the last several years was purchased by Level 3 Communications --- as was Broadwing. So the current "controlling" CLEC is Level 3.

That would appear to make your "escape from TB" rather simple. Open an account with any "good" (for you to determine) VoIP provider, using the exact same Service Address you are using with TB --- the Billing Address does not matter. As soon as you are officially signed up with your new Phone Number, initiate a port of both your primary and virtual TB numbers to your new provider. This does not involve any contact with TB (until the port is completed at which point you must notify TB that you wish to cancel your TB account).

For example, ViaTalk has a "Porting" area on their site from which you can print out a Letter of Authorization (LOA). Fill out the LOA, showing your new provider phone number plus listing both TB numbers you wish to port --- and list the TeleBlend as the losing provider. Make sure to sign the LOA in ink.

Then, print out a page or two from your TeleBlend "My Account" pages that show your TB numbers (primary and virtual), your name and your service address, and (as I recall) a billing page that shows that you are paid up to date -- although the latter item is not mandated according to the recent FCC regulations.

Fax the LOA and the TB printouts to your new provider --- and they will take care of the rest --- usually taking up to thirty days or so. Do not cancel the TB account until your port is complete and outgoing/incoming calls are working.

If you do not have access to the TB adapter (gizmo), you will need to "crack" into the administrative setup area or get an adapter from your new provider or buy a new BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) box.

Thank you so much for this explanation. I really appreciate it (and the time you took to help!).

I hope this info is helpful to others who are also reaching the end of their patience for teleblend.

I'll begin this process immediately and hopefully I don't have any issues along the way.
