I would suggest that anyone that feels tw is attempting to take advantage of them contact »newyork.bbb.org . I just filed my complaint with them regarding this issue.

If you look at your "agreement for service" you will notice that #6 says
"CHANGE IN SERVICES AND RATES. I understand that the company shall provide me with at least 30 days advance written notice before deleting a program from its cable service or before instituting a rate increase."

The notice was posted on help.rr.com on June 5, 2008 and the service was cut June 23, 2008.

An ISP is not a restaurant, if you don't like it, you just don't eat there any more. Internet is a way of life, you don't need it, but if you don't have access to it, you will be lost. The problem here is TWC use some stupid excuse to cut service. Lack of subscribers is not an excuse. How would you feel if your ISP drop your download speed to 56k or limit you can only have 50mb of data daily. Because ISP feel that's would be enough for you.

said by hakujin See Profile :

All this talk of leaving TWC because of no more binaries is just silly. I'm with you in that it sucks, but practically no ISP offers squat in terms of binaries anymore. I was actually surprised after coming back to TWC a year ago (after a 5-6 year hiatus) that they still offered it, AND it was quality service. Back in 2001-2003 there was like 5 days retention max and incompletes a plenty.

Nobody is going to win a class action and if you wanna pay less than $47, use your noggin and call cancellation. They'll give you a promo deal. Sheesh... it was obvious this would happen sooner or later.

I just signed up with these guys over the weekend and now they are giving a 20% for life discount to TWC customers. I emailed them this info and they gave me the 20% also without one bit of a hassle.

So far these guys seem to have their stuff together.

Give em a try if you like!

People need the internet but they don't need food?

Of course, and lack of subscribers is no excuse?

The level of understanding as to how business operates is frightening.

Any particular reason why a Wisconsin resident would file a complaint with the New York BBB? Wouldn't your own local BBB chapter be better?

twc sux,

You analogy is foolish at best and your arguments are moot. This has nothing to do w/ speed cuts or daily quotas.

TWC was offering complimentary access to copyrighted software, movies, music, and games. They are no more. It's as simple as that.

To those people who have never paid for binary Usenet: Welcome to the 21st century, we've missed you...

Is brighthouse networks a subset of TWC customer base in FL or is it accessible to all TWC customers?

If it's not, why this verbage?

"Bright House Networks Road Runner connection."

I see it going this way... RR will soon offer NG access for monthly fee. The cost of the service (just like their digital phone service) will be much more costly than the alternatives (like Vonage), but there's enough average J. Q. Public out there who won't notice and sign up anyway. My guess is it will be offered at $10/month for, say, 20GB, or something crazy like that.

A possible future.
I see it going this way... RR gets dropped, I go to cheaper ISP and use those savings to pay for an unlimited usenet service.

Re: [TWC] Road Runner Newsgroups Discontinued

Time Warner will never do that for so many reasons. And $10 for 20GB is actually highly competitive from a reputable usenet provider. Newshosting gives 10GB for that much.
