So back to the point, address my other issues. This is a side note. So the guy made a dumb comment, I'm sure it wont be his first or last. We all have those times and periods. At least for his dumb comments, we aren't put in harms way.

He said 50 first and then stuttered and kind of mutters. I'd venture to guess he knows there are 50, but was worn down and his brain had a lapse. We all have those days. You got one example, claps. Want me to post about 100 of Bush's? The one being how he hadn't heard gas would reach 4 dollars (now avg of 4.02 nationally)by spring. What about Iraq having weapons of mass destruction? What about mission accomplished? See, there;s something called a one time stupid comment and a lifelong of ignorance. We all have our bad days. I think for Most Americans, that began the day Bush got office.

Oh, just wondering, this comment of Obama's pales in comparison to Mcain's speech about preserving American's rights and voting against immunity. All the next while, he staff's himself with a team of teclo executives and now suddenly had a revelation that American's no longer need said protection. I'll pick Obama over him any day.

jc100 : The only one with a rock solid brain is you bud. You fail to see that even the biggest monster's deserve a trial. The Nazis Killed 6 million and YET they got a day in court (be it the Hague). As for Stalin, well I don't recall that guy having a day in court. He got a Huge Hero's Welcome in Soviet Russia, though. The same went for Lenin. Of which, my family fled this country around the time of the Bolshevik Revolution. With that said, you REAFFIRM my point. Mad Men come in all shapes and religions. We have Bush running things now. He's responsible for the CHAOS in Iraq, no one else. Still, even if the world wanted to hold him accountable, I would expect it to be done in a court. The same goes for the people killing our soldiers. The minute you do away with civility, you let these monster's win. You send the message that we will stoop down to your level. That's a powerful message that resonates around the world. Think of it a mother punishing her son. Say the kid kicked her in a temper tantrum. Should the mother beat the kid within one inch of his life, for his action? I would say no. She is an adult, and he is a child. I.E. we are a country that prides itself on law and order, and should hold that standard for all. WE did so for the Japanese and the Nazis. These guys are no different.

While the U.S. has generally not imprisoned people for free speech, it actually has. Do you remember the case where CNN reporters went to jail for failing to give their source to the Bush administration? I guess your sarcasm touched on a real issue. However, the most we are seeing is our rights being taken down one at a time. At this rate, I wouldn't put it past this government to actually start using such heavy handed techniques. After all, we are facing warrantless wiretaps and further scrutiny into our lives without oversight.

I didn't know that... and it seems quite disturbing indeed.

No such restriction exists in the US Constitution. However, some speech, made by some people, is more "free" than speech made by others.

here's where I have a problem with the article. The first paragraph already explains that the issues brought forth against the paper are largely from the gay community. The catholic church and the gay community have never seen eye to eye, so fine.
But to have the journalist quote "marriage" right in the article to make light of it, even though as of 2005 in the eyes of the law a marriage between a straight couple and a gay couple are no different, shows a bias in favour of the paper in question.
