As i said before; Sprint would not have had a problem with the iDEN network if they would have shut down taking applications for Nextel and started moving customers over to the Sprint side when they signed new contracts and when they signed up. But no they were stupid and allowed people from the Sprint side to move over to Nextel which made them keep 2 networks.

Instead they should have given the Nextel customers the chance to move over to CDMA and improve their coverage and use Readylink instead of the PTT. It would have been a better change over than supporting 2 networks. But the former CEO didnt think of that.

Verizon is buying Alltel, which also makes them the biggest and also substantially improves their coverage area, without taking on Sprint's high churn.

But most importantly for any future VZ/VOD-S deal, VZ officials have said they'll hold off on acquisitions for awhile, to pay down the debt gained in the Alltel deal and the spectrum auction.
I know but it is fun to spend VZ's money on their behalf....

I was not suggesting that AT&T buy Sprint but that Verizon buy them.

Both CDMA
This would make VZ the biggest
Service would improve
Buy them for pennies on the dollar

IDEN is being sold by Sprint so they would not have to contend with that.

Why buy Sprint, when you can have their customer defectors.

Sprint +
- WiMAX spectrum
- WiMAX deployment
- EVDO RevA network

Sprint -
- Many unsatisfied customers (high rate of churn)
- Multiple technologies - iDEN, CDMA, WiMAX and networks to support ($$$$$)
- Large debt (relative to others)
- Sprints network isn't compatible with AT&T

Wouldn't happen... even though they use the same technology...they have the same footprint.
Its cheaper to 'steal' Sprint customers than to 'buy' T-Mobile's.
Or buy Sprint since they also use CDMA.

Maybe AT&T is going to buy T-Mobile They use the same technology. Then the Death Star will get even bigger.
Then they would be AT&TT
