| [Unlock] Question about UIP1868P
Hello everybody
I bought a UIP1868P phone on ebay, but didn't notice that phone cant be ONLY use with Packet8. I Actually don't want to use this provider so I'm looking for unlock it. I found some information over the net referring to Asterisk but I don't know anything about this. I'm really looking for a software way to unlock it. Like a firmware update.
I found that post on this forum (but it's actually too old to reply on it.. lol): »Re: Vbuzzer on DTA310
rcilink said on it to NOT use with UIP1868P unless that is your intention, to have the phone -never- work with Packet8 again... I don't mind, this is actually what I want. But my question is this will change my configuration interface to let me enter any SIP or it will only be configured for Vbuzzer?
In the second case,is anybody have an idea how I could unlock that phone to use any VoIP provider?

You could just keep yours as a paperweight.
I have an SPA1000, a ZyXEL 2002, a Zoom 5822, and a couple more locked devices all inactive including the P8 Uniden IP Phone.
My primary device now is a tiny Grandstream single port device provided by VOIPo.

But actually I only have This one, and i'd like to be able to use it with my actual VoIP Provider. But it looks like an Impossible Mission to unlock it. I can't find any clear information about it.  |

| Ok, but can you give me some more informations please? Because I don't know anything about this. What I need? I probably don't have the necessary material, so what are the different steps for hardware solution ?
And why the only solution a hardware? Is it because the Firmare referred previously is ONLY working for vbuzzer ?
I would appreciate if anybody could provide a complete answer because i'm a total noob about telephony unlocking so a part of answer doesn't ring a bell to me.
