HP DV line changes

PeteC2 : I see that HP is updating their popular "DV" (entertainment pc) series of notebooks.

Blue Ray is going to be prevalant, and some other cosmetic changes which appear nice, especially a change to the keyboard coloring. One of the few gripes that I have had about this line of notebooks, is that the traditional black keys, very quickly get that shiny/worn appearance from the oils on your fingertips. The new models are color-matched with the inside cover, and I would imagine are less likely to show this.

They also are going for a more "borderless" look with the display, which I also very much prefer.

More importantly, however, is one major structural change: The hard drives are going to be shock-mounted with some kind of "drop-sensor" that is supposed to sense a fall, and lock down the drive heads, protecting the drive from crashing. I do not know how effective is will or won't be, but it sounds like a great idea!
--
...something is happening here but you don't know what it is...do you, Mr. Jones?
