| [Fixed] Frusturated with WISP
Ive had some problems with my WISP in the past where I can only really do anything during certain times of the day. The last 2 weeks it has gotten to the point where its unstable 24/7 and nothing I do helps it.
I made a previous post on here about my WISP but wouldn't let me reply to the topic since it was to old. The post can be seen here. My antenna type and everything can be found in this post. (I currently only have one antenna now, not 2 in the post.)

My wisp is »softcom.net/ they offer 3/1 speeds for Wireless. Ive been a subscriber for months and never once seen anything over 1.4 down.
As I said above the last 2 weeks have been horrible. The Ping Plotter speaks for itself. The first one I ran for 24 hours yesterday and the 2nd one is still running today. The first one is a little misleading because the pingtimes right there don't look to bad but I can assure you they're not. Everything will be over 1000+ MS then for about 30 seconds they will all drop down to 30-40MS then go to shit again.
I got as desperate as unplugging the cordless phone and microwave just to see if that could have been causing interference and nothing changed.
I just want to be able to game on it and how it is now I cant do much of anything. The only times that look promising is about 1:30AM-6:AM if I want to game but that is not reasonable.
When I call the WISP they always act surprised like this never happens. Yesterday I demanded they send a tech out to look personally. They wouldn't budge and are going to have one take a look on Monday from their end first. Which I already know will accomplish nothing. As it is right now Dial up would be better to game on and may be an alternative if I cant get this fixed. |

| In your first plot you show 192.168.1.1 as your first hop. Is this your own router and why doesn't it show on your second plot? Are you wireless to 192.168.1.1?
Your ISP is using 900MHz so I fail to see how a microwave could interfere with it, but if you have a wireless home router the problem could be on your end.

The problem isn't my router. |

Sorry to see that you are still having problems.
I'm still thinking massive oversubscription either on the AP or the BH.
And FWIW I have 900MHz Canopy here at my house on a 13dBi yagi which is not the standard Cushcraft that we put on customers houses. It's a turd IMO compared to M2 like you have or Cushcrafts, but it works. I have absolutely zero LOS due to pine trees and leafy trees..... Right through the leaves/needles as well.....

You will see on the AP side that there are 268 Re-Reg counts. This is due to my home phone being a cordless 900MHz device so every time it rings or the wifey is yacking on it, the SM gets blown off the air. 
I could change to a Dect 6 phone but I'm too lazy.... 
The WISP should investigate the Re-Reg counts to see if there is interference on the link, although I don't recall you saying you get totally knocked off the Internet, you just have bad latency and downloads/uploads. They might need to add a control slot to their AP which helps 'fine tune' the system.
I am a lot closer than you are to the AP but with the trees in the way it really knocks a lot off the signal. I played CS last night for 7 hours straight on a server where I had about 35ms of latency to and it was awesome. Way better than my Qwest DSL line here at the house (yep, two connections  ) ever could be.
My speedtests average 2300/1000 as well.
You need to pressure the WISP to investigate the issue, or find someone else to provide you with bandwidth. |
