ahh AnonProxy, the company you are thinking of is Yahoo, it's Yahoo that helped the Chinese government track down and jail a journalist who was also a political dissident.

You can read here about what Google did which is just to agree to censor search results to exclude sites that the Chinese Government finds objectionable.
