They NEVER had any plans to get rid of the Longdistance (LD) which is still alive and very well functioning.. If Sprint is basing it's survival on PTT, they ARE dead. It's just one "other" feature they will offer. People are already trying to make it seem like walkie-talkie is the ONLY thing they are about. How quick everyone forgot about the wireline portion of the company. Strong, lots of network and able to handle the load that it's wireless or other needs can toss at it. They already carry voip traffic for most of the major ISP's that offer it. I can bet if they ever lost the "wired" portion of the company, Sprint would be no more. Just a assumption.  |
