Strawberries actually freeze great - as long as you serve them slightly frozen, they retain their shape and flavor from the freezer.
My favorite thing to use fresh strawberries in is strawberry shortcake (slightly mashed strawberries sweetened with sugar if necessary and then you crumble in freshly baked pie crust).
- shakes and smoothies
- slightly mashed and sweetened, if necessary, served with angel food cake and whipped cream
- same as above, but with pound cake
- homemade strawberry preserves
- parfait (layers of pudding, strawberries, and whipped cream)
- sliced and served with ice cream
I love strawberries, if you couldn't tell... lol
