Latency help

I have the 6 mbps package (highest I can get) and everything was fine for about a year or so. I do a lot of online gaming and would generally get 30-40 ping. Ever since I hooked up a home network there have been issues.

I will get like 70-300 ping and it is very unstable. I tried to disconnect the network so that my computer was hardwired from the modem and that didn't work. I even tried to put the pppoe on the computer instead of the modem and that didn't work.

I would appreciate any help at all. Anyone who plays online games knows how bad lag can be.
