Pings for WB use to be around 600 ms until they started traffic shaping. Pings then doubled.

Just so. I have two options: satellite or 26.4 kbps max dialup. Given that, I'm satisfied with my HN Pro connection, which is usually more than ample for my needs. Their foot print is also slowly shrinking just like dialup. As wISPs, DSL, Cable and Fios slowly creep farther and farther out of town people will leave Satellite for cheaper, faster, and lower latency options. The vast majority of Satellite customers have that service because it's their only choice.

Good luck getting that rate out in the middle of BFE. Thats where all these people are getting satellite in the first place. They aren't in the city. They are out in the sticks.
