In my world a .bin is an EPROM image and associated with a hex editor. A .ps is related to Acrobat. Otherwise, from a quick look, I agree most all the rest look to be media file extensions.

Yes, but the extensions .bin and .ps are not exclusive to those files or file types of which you speak.

Nor would VLC media player have any reason to associate itself with those, were that the case.

.bin and .ps, in this case, are likely Apple "Golden Orchard" files (or perhaps something associated with an .iso, in the case of .bin), and .ps might also be a 'Paul Shields Song Module'-- whatever that is. (See previous link for details.)
