1 edit | Windows XP Pro-Says Log In As Administrator????
I am trying to uninstall drivers using clean boot. When disabling start ups and press apply I get window stating to log on as administrator. The computer name has my name and I log in using a password. It gets me on. Why is this doing this? From what I remember I am the adminsistrator and only log on for this computer. I had simular problems installing IE7 saying I am not adminsistrator. How can I find out and get this resolved???? Much appreciated, thanks. PS-in user accounts it lists me and says administrator. I am able to change password if this helps. -- Love That SpongeBob! Great Forum |

| reply to amark You could check jst to see what account type you have might be that something disabled your admin rights.
start >>run >> type in control userpasswords2
and check the settings see pic.
you might have to change the account type apply and then change it back and apply. -- Koma If YOu Don't Think It's Possable!! It's Acually A Reality!!The best way to predict the future is to invent it. Alan Kay!! Ya Don't Know The signal Till Ya Ride It!! Voice Break's There's Trouble!!!! |

1 edit | no don't delete the administrator that account was created when the os was first installed what you could try is logging into that administrator account. and see if you can make the changes you want. if you can then while your there you should open the control usserpasswords2 again and click on the desktop tthat you log on to and change it to restricted or standerd users and then apply and then change it back to administrator.
When you say users the desktop that you log on to see the pic on the left above is that set to users??? there or administrator?? edit :
if Administartor does not show up on the log in screen you can get there by booting to safe mode. Or if you require users to press ctrl+alt+del to log on simpley take your name out of that box and type in administrator and log on. -- Koma If YOu Don't Think It's Possable!!
