Re: SpeedTouch 516 Tweaking :) Is there any details on it, as of what's better on it vs the older versions of 7.4.x.x? -- Mario |

Hi,
No 'ChangLog' file here neither but here's what i've found...
I powered up my computer a few minutes ago, then i tried to launch 'DMT v7.35' and the unit's logs show it just went through a "KERNEL Warm restart"... That's not a 1st time, i often noticed that behaviour (captured below), recently:

I yet have to read from other ST owners that they observed this phenomenon as well but it looks like Thomson released one more 'DMT' hostile FirmWare, if one should ask me!... |

1 edit | Ha, and i keep selecting the summer time option but it sorts of resets itself - which explains the 1 h delay...

| reply to Bicephale I haven't had the reboot problem yet, I have my modem connected to the router so this morning I just unplugged the modem to router wire and hooked up my pc connection directly to the modem and set a static ip and run dmt and works fine and dandy.
Will test it out tonight. |
|
 | My ST is configured as a self-contained MoDem/Router and the behaviour i described started to appear quite a bit reproducible.
The very same 'DMT' triggered event happened minutes ago!... |

2 edits | reply to Bicephale @Bicephale, try unchecking the "get CPUMem Stats" and see if the router does a warm restart again when using DMT.
As for the summer time, you can try setting dst to relative mode through telnet.
Here, you can find the cli for the 7.4.x firmwares and the release notes for the 536v6 (you can find other models too if you surf around).
Unfortunately, to get the notes you have to be a partner and have a login username and password. The cli is unlocked though. |

 | Hi,
I used the GUI this morning to save one version of 'user.ini' where the option is disabled and another with the option on.
A comparison of both files allowed me to finger point at this:
[ switch.ini ]
qos config state=disabled nbrOfQueues=0 realtime=disabled
qos config state=disabled nbrOfQueues=0 realtime=enabled
[ system.ini ]
settime timezone=-05:00 daylightsaving=disabled
settime timezone=-05:00 daylightsaving=enabled
The problem vanished after a Power reset... I have no clue what was happening before but it seems to be working now.
Oh, and my copy of the CLI Manual is dated 2008-Feb-27... A binary comparison shows it's identical to the one which you suggested. Unfortunately, when we compare the size of the past versions we can only conclude it started shrinking:
2007-Feb-16 8488428 Bytes
2007-Feb-20 7070481 Bytes
2007-Oct-2 5438132 Bytes
Thanks for posting anyway! |
