I think what they're saying there is...

It will cause some technical issues if everyone is trying to get header counts for nonexistent newsgroups. It shouldn't, but it sounded that way to me. Just unsubscribe to everything, unless you want the big-8 (woohoo!) and dont use their newserver without unsubscribing from alt.* Whatever!

Or, it can be used as an excuse to dump you if you're using too much 'bandwidth' cause you've changed to another newsserver and pulling the same alt.* groups. The wording is vague enough for lawyers to love.
