Correct. your paying for the connection. VZ, or Comcast or anyone else doesnt have to offer you news groups, web space or even email for that matter.

1 edit		 Correct. Technically, they don't don't have to. But the fact is, if they stopped offering email, web access, web space, etc, nobody would be paying for their "connection". Are you going to spend $40+ a month for Verizon's "connection", when someone else's "connection" offers you services that you have to pay extra for with Verizon. In reality, nobody is paying for just a connection.
