Wait for 1249 deal or just get it for 1349. It is the best laptop around for that price. In adition, 8800m GTS is just a beast. It is ranked 4th (only Nvidia GeForce Go7950GTX SLI, Nvidia GeForce 8800M-GTX and Nvidia GeForce 8800M-GTX SLI beats it) in High End Notebook video cards. It beats 8600m to dust like nothing. Its like young mike tyson versus drunk bum on the street.
Another great thing about P-6860FX, is that you can add another hdd and have 640GB in total. Also this lappy is easy upgradeable. Take off the t5500 sell it for 150-200 or whatever it goes for, and put t9500 or t9300. t9300 goes for $319. P-6860FX bios supports these processors.
I am planning on gettin P-6860FX myself at the end of the summer IF i find nothing better.
It is just retarded... why gateway selling these so cheap? P-6860FX is worth at least 2000$.

edit: Just in case; people who follows the notebook market, let me know if any other good laptops (around 1500$, upgradeable (cpu and hdd), 4 gb ram, at least 8800m gts, i prefer 8800m gtx, NO sli) are coming out during the month of august? I need new one for upcoming school year.

Of course if gaming is a big deal, you'll want to find one with at least the 8800M . The 8600 isn't 'bad', but the 8800 is much much better gaming performance.
