 CRTC answers Bell's non-disclosure stance!

Bell Canada ···Services
(Bell Canada Cease and Desist from Throttling ADSL AccessServices ENG pdf.pdf)
Well gang,

Here's it is!

The CRTC has just issued another procedure letter regarding our request for Bell to disclose certain information. The Commission has decided that Bell
"must" disclose the information publicly and they have also realigned the filing dates for subsequent comments.

Very well done.

I continue to support TekSavvy.

I've moved all my three phone lines to TekSavvy and DSL of course is provided by TekSavvy.

Appreciate it.... Though, this is about something that's very major!

The CRTC is turning over a very nice new leaf! They're considering Net Neutrality needs (stated publicly by the head honcho from the CRTC recently) and also are making a very real stance (today) on a topic that will shape our Internet future!

........very cool!

I am quite happy to see this roll by, and i agree with you Rocky 100%
This is a reward from all that effort yourself, CAIP and your company has been making, without people like you, this would never have gotten to where it is now!
Gratz!

I have been following the Bell vs. 3rd party DSL providers somewhat but am not fully aware of the situation. Can you elaborate what this decisions means for you, Bell and Teksavvy users such as myself.

Thanks again for repping your clients proudly and vocally Rocky. Keep up the fight.

Do a "Save As..." and add the .pdf extension to the file name. You'll be able to open it properly afterwards.

Nice little victory! Depending on what I find in the newly released data, I may have to send another letter to the CRTC...

Hmm, we're barely getting anything here.

The CRTC has only demanded that three specific redacted things be revealed. The vast majority of things here will remain "confidential".

Here's the link for everything:

Here's what Bell answered, but without much of anything in it.

I think, if we need more information, and can justify why, they'll give us more!

Addressed to Bell mouthperson Mirko ‘5%’ Bibic:

"Unless otherwise expressly indicated, Bell Canada is to place on the public record all of the information specified in the Attachment by 23 June 2008, serving a copy on CAIP by the same date. These submissions must be received, not merely sent, by that date."

So they have to reveal this information that Bell considers to be confidential. What will happen once they reveal it? Will throttling stop? I don't quite understand how revealing this information will solve the throttling issues. Thanks for putting up with my noob questions

But CAIP asked for and tried to justify most of the redacted information, and only got these bits. There would have to be a substantially different argument used the second time around to request disclosure of the same information previously rejected.
