The WISP who things they just provide Internet these days is doomed to fail. With VOIP, homeland security, monitoring, meter reading, etc. the network is what is valuable. Thinking the only people using the Internet during this time are people surfing nascar.com is a bad way of thinking.

Imagine plugging in a voip phone and calling out to say you are okay

Imagine being able to tell the corporate office about flooding in the local office. And when the waters go down and the land lines are still not fixed. Wireless allows business to get back to work while the water logged land lines are being repaired.
