[Vista] Install 64 bit over 32 bit without doing a clean install

Sorry everyone, didn't find anything useful on google or here. Plenty of stuff on 32 bit over 64 bit.

So can I install Vista 64 bit over my 32 bit version without having to reinstall everything from scratch? Or at the very least not have to wipe my hard drive clean?

Even if it did, I see a nightmare. 64-bit Vista separates alot of things by whether they are 32-bit or 64-bit programs - separate Program Files folders, etc.

Sigh. If I would have only known that RAM would have gotten super cheap in only a matter of months I never would have bought the 32 bit version in the first place.

I started doing some manual backups but I've got 300 gigs of stuff to sift through.

Guess I have my work cut out for me.
