Frequenting quite a few music download blogs, you would be surprised how many bands offer up there cd before it is released, yes some major lable bands as well.
Some ask for the cd to be removed and it is,some ask politely to at least review it if it is going to be shared.
The majority of bands like the publicity. |

Nine Inch Nails are a GREAT example of this! They offered their ENTIRE last CD free for download in about 5 different audio formats!!! 1 of them was even BETTER than CD!!!

I also enjoyed Radiohead's approach with "In Rainbows" - you name your price. More of just a statement I guess. Love that album, err...cd, err...set of files. I actually bought a hard copy at Target cause they (Radiohead) deserve it. |
