| Alpharetta Availability? (Jennifer Oaks / Mid Broadwell)
Anyone know when Jennifer Oaks Subdivision off of Mid Broadwell road will get availability?
ATT trucks came by our subdivision a couple of weeks ago put up signs and tore up the area upgrading our network to offer us "a new service to compete with cable telivision", but the website still says no availability.
I'm with DirecTV right now, and can't wait to dump them.
Thanx! |

Try the availability checker @ »uverse.att.com or Call 800-ATT-2020, ask for U-Verse Sales, and ask a Customer Service Rep to check your address.
If that comes up no good, try checking addresses of neighbors (especially the houses that surround yours -- to your right and left, behind you, directly across the street, etc etc). If all those come back no good, then you are probably not "green" (available) yet.
Keep on the lookout for new phone box equipment (actually fiber boxes) in your neighborhood. The new boxes are called "VRAD"s and vary in shape and size and color, but generally are about 3-6 ft tall, about 2-5 ft wide, and usually tan (though some are green). They also require a power source, so there is usually a brand new power pedestal and power meter right next to the new box. |

| reply to jenoaks There are currently signs in my neighborhood letting everyone know about the upcoming work (it may have already started). As I was leaving to get breakfast one morning, an AT&T tech was looking at a pedestal at the corner of my yard.
I asked him how long before we'd see UVerse here, and he said anywhere from a month to 3 months after they finish the work. He also said I'd know when it's live, because there would be door-to-door people going around signing up people, as well as marketing material mailed to the house. |

@comcast.net | reply to jenoaks I hope you aren't an HDTV user hoping to dump DTV - you won't find better. The limitations with this uverse thing are really poor and nowhere near competition for all the new HD channels DTV has. |

Have you seen U-Verse HD in person, DTV? It is pretty good. Granted, DTV HD is almost on par with Over The Air HD in terms of clarity, but U-Verse really is not nearly as bad as some people claim. |
