Re: Verizon bundles

Thanks everyone. So basically Freedom essentials is about $60 ($45 + ~$15 fees). I'm not sure I see the value in any Verizon package because of that. Any break you get just offsets the ridiculous landline price and fees. I think I'll just stick with my voip and go a la carte.

On a separate note, why isn't the FSLC disclosed? Just to pull the wool over our eyes? I mean, after all, it's the same for every US customer (hence federal). I mean, I understand they don't want to disclose local fees since they vary by state/county/town.

That's fairly accurate. The advantages to weigh with the triple are a proper connection to 911 if you need it, and the BBU on the ONT will keep the phone up for a while if the data connection is lost. It's a personal judgment call. If you go triple over voip, Vz wins, as they lock you in for 1 - 2 years, and you get no price increases during that term. Without phone you may be subject to whatever data, TV price increases come along.

I believe you can do one or two year agreements on TV and/or internet without doing any kind of combo package.

The battery backup is only for the phone when the power goes out.

You can have two or all three without being in a combo package. You have to explicitly enroll in a bundle to get the discounts.
