| [Equipment] Linksys router and Verizon FIOS
My TeleBlend service has worked fine till a couple of months ago when the TB device (Linksys) stopped communicating with my router.
I have verizon FIOS and have a ActionTec router. Other computers connect fine thru this router but the TB Linksys device has stopped communicating with my router (the green power light blinks). I have made no changes to the configuration that used to work fine in the past.
If I bypass the ActionTec router, and connect the FIOS cable directly to the TB devide, my phone service works fine. I can also connect a computer thru the Linksys router.
Has anyone experienced this. Verizon support has tried to help but as their router seems to work fine, they cannot trouble shoot the Linksys issue. TB Support actually requested me to buy a new power supply.
Any help would be much appreciated. |

| Based on past problems with VOIP and the ActionTec router, I would ask Verizon if any firmware updates were performed about the same time your Teleblend service quit working. Maybe downgrading the router firmware will get it up and running again.

| reply to TeleUser1 FYI, basically any router that can manage PPPOE can be used with verizon fios. Verizon claims that only their router has special software that allows it to use the fastest speed. This is incorrect imo. I've used d-link and now using Linksys WRTU54G-TM with T-mobiles @home service and it works swell. I disconnected the actiontec and installed the Linksys WRTU54G-TM with the motorola NIM100 piggybacked from one of the ports. The motorola NIM100 was part of verizons first setup with their d-link wireless router. The new Linksys WRTU54G-TM from t-mobile handles voip and wireless as well. I believe the NIM100 is needed to handle the dvr and guide programming |

| reply to TeleUser1 If you can PM me your information, we can try something else before having to move to another router.
Also, make sure that you have not added any type of firewall blocking our ports from leaving your network. It sounds like the Actiontech is blocking the device and the ports from communicating with us. We may have another option for you by putting you on a different port going in and out. Look at your router config first, though. |
