Uhhh, the "news" about it is that cable is starting to move their channels off of analog and requiring customer's to get digital boxes in order to receive channels. It's really not to their benefit to leave channels on analog because now they have the opportunity to force it upon people because all of their competition is now requiring the use of boxes as well.. They free up large amounts of bandwidth, and make tons of extra money from box rentals and digitial package fees that now go along with getting digital boxes.
The news is that the large companies are now starting to do this, despite the fact that they have no legal requirement to do it - but are doing it to line their own pockets more |
