NgtFlyer : My original modem was a Zyxel 645M. Worked fine for some 3 years until after a bad lightning storm I noticed it locked up. Resetting it wouldn't bring it back so I assumed it took a hit through the phone line. Then I switched to a Broadxent.

The one I had lasted about a year and died quietly during the night one night. I ended up reconfiguring an old Westell 6100 series modem that was originally from Bellsouth. That one has worked great since I put it into service about 2 years ago. I haven't had to reset it once.
