| reply to Seandhi I'm sure no one who rated Houston #1 has endured the steamy days of late summer or watched the Astro's dump another one from the Crawford boxes. I'm also betting that no one asked the residents of, say, Fifth Ward, where they would rank Houston's long line of amenities -- How you can make the world a Better Place |

Every city also have a section of lower income housing, so I don't quite understand that argument. All in all, besides the mosquitos and heat, Houston is a great place to live. -- You're an enlightened cat, and I dig that. |

| I'm pretty suprised I was in Vegas a few days ago and it was sitting above 105 and got to 111. I would never live here oh and gas was $4.30 average and I was in Los Angeles the same week and gas was around $4.60 a gallon. -- Team Discovery-Join the fight |

| reply to mudpie I heard that on The Buzz. I really can't believe that we didn't top that list. Other places may be hotter, but it is so G-D humid here. -- You're an enlightened cat, and I dig that. |

| reply to Seandhi Houston got ranked number one again, this time by Forbes:
said by »www.forbes.com/2008/08/18/cities···ate.html :Though Houston has plenty of fat cats, this is not a story about America's Most Overweight Cities. Rather, Houston is recognized here for its dynamic business environment, low unemployment and high wages relative to income. These factors make Houston the best city to earn a living by our calculations. A record amount of money has been made off oil and commodities this year, and Houston is the American business hub of those industries. Throw in the weak dollar, which allows Houston-based materials companies to glean more cash off exports and increases the price of gasoline, and it's easy to understand why the city excels.
