 FUD from my ISP?

Weird.

I am on a different ISP and have been in contact with them since this whole mess with Bell started. They claimed that they had MLPPP, but in reality it was broken

When asked, they replied that they were acknowledging that it was indeed broken, but that the fix was a very low priority.

OK, I have patience... to a point.

Today, I sent an e-mail requesting for the last time to fix MLPPP (it's been roughly a month now) or I would leave to TS.

The reply I got back is weird. They told me that many people did not belive MLPPP would work as a workaround for the throttle, and... brace yourself... this *INCLUDED* TS support people!!!???

Huh???

OK, is this FUD?

Did MLPPP stopped working @ TS??

Do they know something I don't????

I can't speak for TSI, but I can speak as a user of MLPPP on TSI. What I would say is that MLPPP works as it should ... and all is not throttled yet. Now if it will be throttled the option belongs to Bell ... I just hope there Engineering department is as muddled with bureaucracy as there Technical Support is, this way it'll take ages before they get around to doing something.

Yeah... that's my impression too. However, these days one never knows....

Would you care to let us know which ISP is giving you the run around so others can be made aware?

MLPPP is legitimately used to bond two DSL connections together.

Too bad your ISP doesn't want to think forward and decided to can this idea.

Now, before you guys go guns blazing, I would like to state and re-state for the record that I have been with these guys for over 6 years now, I have nothing but good things to say... up to this hicc-up

I've known about Sentex for a long time (over 10 years), they were once my ISP (actually, they were my ISP after Waterloo Internet Co-operative went bust). I've never heard anything bad about them (and I've never had any serious complaints about them). So why did I leave?

For the only reason any customers I knew that had Sentex left: They priced themselves out of the market! I see they are back on planet earth with their prices now, but I remember $30/month dialup when 295.ca existed (give or take).

I guess good support/reputation comes at a price.

MLPPP still works with TekSavvy, and it still circumvents throttling.

FUD == Fear, uncertainty and doubt
The fear and uncertainty are missing. A "What The @*&$" is closer.

This is more like BS as in NDP BS.

Yes, I know what FUD means. I still remember the good ol' days of MS DOS vs, DR DOS, vs Caldera DOS, etc. Good ol' MS doing whatever was in his best interest no matter the cost.

In return, do you know the meaning of the phrase "the recipe of the secret sauce" in relation to one of the key MS products?

Don't know about that one. On the other hand, I have been asking about design details from my coworker that I am supposed to use. I have been road block every other way to Rome and seen number changes their meanings depending on which day it was. From the very little part I can glimpse at, I would have to say it might have shared the same secret sauce that you are talking about. It has the same flying spirits that kills all living things from a very nicely gold painted box as the Arc in the Raiders of the Lost Ark. I also saw a low of FUD the other day at work, so much that and probably not going to be working for this stinking place RSN.

Disclaimer: I do not work for the FUD factory. I think they have better ethnics standards than where I am at.
