There... the summary is now correct.
All taxes on business get passed on down to the consumer in the form of higher prices. -- This isn't fair! I was only supposed to hate just ONE presidential candidate! |

This just means Massachusetts will be taxing the already overtaxed residents even more. "Welcome to Taxachusetts" should be on the hwy signs when you enter the state. -- My BLOG .. .. "Taxachusetts" is a bit of a misnomer given some of the other states I've lived in (including a few of those low-tax Southern states where I've paid more in taxes than Massachusetts). At the personal level, here's what we pay:
5.3% income tax 5% sales tax on everything except food (from a grocery store), medicine, and clothing A property tax that varies by town (I think I pay about $10 per $1,000 of accessed value where I live)
There are some miscellaneous taxes and fees on phone bills (the 5% sales tax applies as does a $0.99 E911 fee).
Not having run a business, I have no idea what those taxes are.
Everything in life is a trade-off. Massachusetts is pretty reasonable given the tax rates and the services provided. |

Damn those hippies! I mean, we republicans go through all the trouble of starting a multi trillion dollar war, and they have the nerve to try and pay off the debt. OHHHH it boils my blood! |

A couple you forgot come to mind:
Auto excise tax. Read, every year you are retaxed on your car. Gasoline tax. How much does MA tack on per gallon?
Edit - and don't forget about those fees as they are taxes too. There are lots of these. |
