Hmm, I noticed they didn't mention very many cards as REVA capable. That is interesting to me since the PC5750, which I have, is supposed to be RevA capable with a firmware update.

5750 is produced Rev. A compatible . You cannot upgrade any device from Rev. 0 to Rev. A with a firmware upgrade . It requires a hardware upgrade . Now the word is to go from Rev. A to Rev. B when it is available will be a firmware upgrade

the PC5750 is hardware equipped to handle rev a, but requires a firmware update to be able to use rev a.

The one I received was Rev. A right out of the Box. Same with all my customers . I have never heard of a firmware upgrade being required. You should check with UT Starcom for such a firmware upgrade if it is available for yours.

The newer cards are being shipped with the latest firmware already applied. The older cards required a firmware update so that it would be compatible with Rev. A.

I've had mine for about seven months, and it was brand new when I purchased it.

You need to contact UT Starcom or Alltel for this firmware upgrade you need . I have never seen it posted . You are the first person I have heard having this problem

It's not a problem at all. I've had the firmware update since it was released a while back.

Just for information sake, how do you know the cards you have are rev a ready out of the box ?

The last couple of days I have been jumping from Rev A to DO but my signal strength has dropped and I am going way slower then normal right now. I wanted to check for an update on my quick link mobile and it says the info can't be retrieved and to make sure I am connected. I'm connected. Has anyone else had a problem if they check for an update?

Thank you. I have checked for an update many times and it always said it was updated but not now. I settled in to DO after it tried to stay on Rev A longer then it ever has before. I'm back to my normal speeds for summer and tree obstructions.

I definitely have this update:

Assuming I have the latest update and it allows my modem to operate at RevA speeds, I wonder if locking my modem to HDR Only will prevent me from seeing RevA. To be more specific, is locking my modem to HDR only forcing it to be Rev0?

definitely wish I could have those speeds lol. As you can see by the post ansar made, there is a firmware upgrade for the PC5750. I would imagine, just like in your case, that newer cards are shipped with the newest firmware, unlike my card, and ones sold prior to the firmware being available.

Re: Alltel Wireless Rolls Out Faster Broadband Network

Last night for a number of hours my connection was acting really weird. It would go from rA to Do but stayed dormant. My cell phone was doing the same thing. Today I am back to DO but it seemed they were experimenting with rA in my area. I hope that is what they were doing.
