| Switched Video/Data as well? So if a Cable Co (in this case, Cox) went this route, would it mean that these FTTP customers would be getting switched Video/Data as well? Similar to TelCo FTTP?
And then I would assume that the CableCo would need its own ONT for its network as well. Could you imagine moving into a new house that has multiple ONTs -- one from the TelCo and one from the CableCo -- now THAT would be broadband OPTIONS. |

No. Verizon, to use one prominent example, doesn't do switched IPTV. Their video is essentially a HFC system that happens to have the coax begin on the outside wall of your house, rather than down the street somewhere. -- It's wierdo, not weirdo. Yes, I know that's not the 'proper' spelling of the similar english language word. |

I guess I didn't realize FiOS was not switched IPTV. I assumed it was. My mistake.
Is the internet portion of FiOS Switched? Or is it all analogous to CableCos offerings?
Maybe I'll wiki FiOS... |

 | It is a dual system. They use IPTV for VOD and a HFC system for the rest. |
