 | You are correct. FTTP ,FTTH, and FTTB are all just different terms for the same thing. Your home lies on your premises (property) doesn't it? It wouldn't make sense to use the term Fiber-To-The-Home if it was connected to your business (or other non-home location), hence the more generic terms Fiber-To-The-Premises and Fiber-To-The-Building. |

Premises is the proper term as there is not necessarily a home or the fiber may not be placed on a particular building on the premises if there is more than one building. Premises covers it all. quote: Premises are land and buildings together considered as a property. This usage arose from property owners finding the word in their title deeds, where it originally correctly meant "the aforementioned; what this document is about", from Latin prae-missus = "placed before".
FTTP, Fiber To The Premises/Property, is what Verizon calls it and Verizon is who is doing it. |
