I am having very similar problems in Brookline. But its happening on many channels. StarzHD and Discovery are especially bad. But NESN HD is having issues too. Its been so bad that my box has booted up on its own several times because the channel was so unwatchable.

When I called RCN then just sent a signal to my box.

I have been having this issue for a couple weeks but my channels got unwatchable yesterday.

The problem is back again. It only happens during primetime though, generally between 8p-12a. Its both Discovery HD and TLC HD, which are on the 855mhz QAM. RCN has been out several times to check the channels. They say that the signal levels out at the tap are fine. It has to be a problem either at the node, or the head end because the samething happens to my brother on those same channels.

Sorry for bringing up an old thread, i figured it would be easier since its for an existing problem.

The problem has been resolved. It turns out there was a problem between the head end and the node in my area. Thanks to RCN for getting the problem resolved quickly.

Have you had a tech out, maybe a street problem if those are the only channels

Hey,
Recently, i've been having issues with Discovery Channel HD. I've got a DCH 3416 and a 6416 and they both have issues with that channel. Over the past couple of weeks all of my recordings on both boxes have either have severe blocking where it makes the program unwatchable or result in recording errors. My SNR on the 3416 will bounce between 34.6dB, high 20's and 0.0dB. The 5 second error counts read ~2000 uncorrectable and ~78000 correctable bites. This only happens on Discovery Channel HD, all other channels are fine. Both boxes have been reset/refreshed in the past 24 hrs. Any ideas? I've got a splitter in that goes in between my modem and the box for my 3416, the 6416 is connected directly to the wall and still has the same issues.
DCH3416: M10738TCO826
DCT6416: M10622TCG106

Thanks.
