Re: lets bring down planes Not the case. You don't want people making cell phone calls while the flight crew is shooting a Cat IIIB ILS approach. Not to confuse the issue, but technically speaking, there are soooo many variables that its a much more prudent decision to maintain an altitude restriction. Much more. I don't think people yapping on their phones is worth more than a safe approach/landing. |

I saw a statistic somewhere that 40-50% of cell phones are still on (non-intentionally). I have yet to see a plane go down because of cell phone use. |
