| Work-friendly sites for WoW?
As I'm sure a lot of you have the same problem I do, I was wondering (if the mod's allow it) if any of you have sites other than this one that you frequent with decent information while at work.
My work computer blocks gaming/(most)forum/blog/etc. type sites so I try and find ones I can use while I twiddle the ole thumbs.
EDIT: I'm going to go through this forum and link everyone's contribution in this first thread with a small quote from them. I'll just go in order of posts, and add in each link by person ... if that makes sense:

I feel your pain.. Basically everything is blocked for me too. And whatever sites I do find will be good for a day or two then, BAM! God damn I.T. guys catch me and block it... matter of fact their probably reading this right now.. I'm on to you B*stards...
So mostly everything is blocked besides this site.. and you know why? Because it's a general forum and has a variety of different topics that aren't directly wow related. Another one is ARS technica (forum site). May want to try your luck there.. |

i work for comcast and pretty much everything WoW related is blocked by Websense. sadly i cant think of a job keeping way to bypass it.

For some reason I can't get on to www.wowinterface.com but if I go directly to a mod page, I can. Once in, it's more of a text based deal but it allows me to cruise around and read up on mods I may want to download when I get home.
Try it and see if it works for you.

Here's a site that's a bit slow to connect sometimes, but I can get out to it. It's a character planning site that is very detailed. Allows you to regear your character to try stuff out, see how different buffs affect you, etc. Pretty cool actually. Check it out if you have a bunch of time on your hands at work.
It can even import your character off of the Armory, which actually worked for me so it's also an interesting work around to pull yourself or someone else up off the Armory.

And thanks Grey, I'm more than happy to be here doign what I can. Heck I get to chum it up with the Aussies and here those accents (especially from the women *purrrrr*!) daily too, so how bad can ya have it when ya have that!? 
EDIT: On the topic of sites being blocked ... I honestly think a lot of that has to due with how they label the sites. I've been to a handful of sites (normally after saying "Yes I know I will be in a world of shit if I go here. I am fully responsible for my actions. Bah-dee-blah.")... But ones that are specifically labelled as a Blog, Game site, etc. won't come up at well. |

yea i think the "games" tag that goes into lots of site's meta tags really messes things up for people at work behind the iron wall of websense.
